The talent and experience behind our reputation for excellence.

Steve started working for Holbro Engineering in 1997 as a driver. He continued to progress through various roles within the company including Goods Inwards Inspector, Production Controller, Production Manager, then becoming the General Manager and heading the Management Team. In 2015 Steve was awarded NEBOSH National Certificate in the Management of Health & Safety from Blackpool and the Fylde College (via Fleetwood Nautical College). Steve became a director of the company during early 2024.

Steph started working for Holbro Engineering in 1993 as an Office Junior, progressing through the company to the position of Office Manager and making up part of Holbro’s Management Team. Steph became a director of the company during early 2024.

Russ started working for Holbro Engineering in 1991 as a fully time served manual machinist. Moving from the machines to the office in 1995, Russ has progressed through various roles within the company including Sales Manager, Production Manager and General Manager. Russ stepped out of the General Managers role during 2018 to concentrate on new projects and became Holbro’s Technical Engineer.

TECHNICAL ENGINEER

Dave started working for Holbro Engineering in 2010 as a fully time served CNC Operator. In 2015 he moved from the machines to the office for his technical engineering knowledge. Between 1979 and 1988 while working for Westinghouse Nuclear Fuels Dave achieved City & Guilds Levels 1, 2 & 3 in Mechanical Engineering, part programming, advanced part programming, advance manufacture and machine tool setting & operating at Blackpool and The Fylde College. He has also gained qualifications for Pathtrace Cad/Cam. From leaving school in 1979 until 2010, Dave has worked continuously as a CNC Machinist/Fitter.

TECHNICAL ENGINEER / ESTIMATOR

Mick originally worked at Holbro Engineering as a CNC programmer/setter from 1994 – 2003, he then left to pursue other opportunities, but after several years working at Blackpool & the Fylde College as a lead assessor in mechanical engineering, and teaching AutoCAD and CNC machining, Mick re-joined us in 2015 as our Repairs/Overhauls Manager.

REPAIRS / OVERHAULS MANAGER

Matt joined us in 2023. He is a highly experienced and multi-disciplined electro-mechanical engineer with over thirty years’ experience working within highly regulated industries. Having gained OND, HNC and HND qualifications in Engineering, Matt went on to develop his career in automotive, pharmaceutical and process disciplines. For the past 20 years he has been delivering class leading engineering solutions to established rail service centres and maintenance providers, train operating companies and rolling stock companies across a diverse range of fleets.

TECHNICAL ENGINEER

In 2023, Holly began her career with us as a business administrator Subsequently, she advanced to the position of Health & Safety Officer after acquiring her IOSH certification, which followed her initial attainment of First Aid and Fire Marshall certifications. Additionally, Holly has completed the requisite courses to assume the role of Quality Assurance in 2025.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Ollie had an apprenticeship within the engineering and manufacturing industry. He was initially involved in programming and operating on CNC machines before moving over to quality assurance.
